Halloween Buns

This week we are doing our Halloween Baking!
We wrote our recipes out last week and this is our reading in English.
We like baking and cooking and are good at helping Ms. Leydon do the washing up, which is just as important! What a tasty treat!

Sligo Rovers Visits Mercy Primary School!

Today was exciting day in Our Lady of Mercy Primary School. Sligo Rovers came to visit our school after winning the EA Cup! The school was decorated from top to toe in Red and White!

Google Street View Launched in Ireland

We had great fun with Google Street View today! Here is a shot of our school! You view it in several shots because it is so big! When we went around different places we could see some neighbours in their gardens and some children on yard. It is a bit strange we said and we all agreed that it was good to blur out car registrations and faces. We discussed how we should never share locations with people whom we do not fully trust.

It must have taken a long time to take all the pictures!

Catch a Little Rhyme

Once upon a time
I caught a little rhyme

I set it on the floor
but it ran right out the door

I chased it on my bicycle
but it melted to an icicle

I scooped it up in my hat
but it turned into a cat

I caught it by the tail
but it stretched into a whale

I followed it in a boat

When I fed it tin and paper
it became a tall skyscraper

Ms. Finan's Retirement

Tomorrow, on Mercy Day Ms. Mary Finan will be taking Early Retirement. All of the pupils in Our Lady of Mercy Primary both past and present will miss her greatly. We all hope that she enjoys her send off!

Counting Number 1

We are looking at the number one. We can make number 1 with play doh and here is one penguin!

Mercy Sisters Handover

Together with the staff of the school, the Chairperson Fr. Dominick Gillooly and members of the Board of Management, fourteen Sisters of Mercy gathered in the school hall. Prayers of thanksgiving were offered for their dedicated service to education in Sligo for over 160 years.
